Standard disclaimer: Leave your loathing of meta, World of Warcraft, or community diaries outside. If you think we should be playing your MMO instead, start a guild and write a recruitment diary. Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Link to your recruitment diary is OK though. |
Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. We're getting close to the membership cap, so we'll have to put you on a waiting list if you want to join. To get on the list, read this diary and visit the Guild web site. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome. |
More below the fold:
So one of the less spoilery things to talk about regarding the 6.2 patch is the addition of shipyards. Shipyards are available to anyone with a level 3 garrison. In fact, my impression is that everyone with a Level 3 garrison gets the opening quest to build it.
Shipyards will allow you to build ships for naval missions and access Tanaan Jungle. Why we aren't just kicking down that crappy gate after the garrison questline and going after them I don't know, but we aren't because that's too simple.
Still, look for pirate transmog and lots of "matey"s in chat. No nothing's dropping, I can just see the shape of the future.
I was going to put something about stockpiling garrison resources as the cost for the shipyard on the PTR is 5000 garrison resources and 1000 for your first ship. Blizzard, however, hastened to add that these costs are placeholders and when it goes live they will be lowered.
With that, let's go to the raid reports. Here's Taymatt with the Team Kaels report:
Hello all,
A few notes from Team Kaels:
(1) We will be adjusting our raid days and times a bit. Our new raid times are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 server until 11:30 server.
(2) Our "optional" raid day will still be Mondays, but it will start a half hour early, at 9:30 server.
(3) A reminder: Mondays are typically team Kaels' Blackrock Foundry farm days. We are 9/10 normal in BRF and oftentimes do later-wing bosses on normal in our Monday groups. Sometimes we do farm heroic bosses. Given our Monday groups are optional, we often have people bring alts and are frequently short-handed. All other guildies are welcome to join us on our Monday runs. One caveat: depending on the boss we are attempting and/or our raid composition, we may need to limit characters who want to come to those with an appropriate item level. If you'd like to join in, feel free to send me a tell in game on Mondays just before 9:30 server and we'll figure it out!

Next is the Team PM report by Pamena:
Team PM report:
I'm happy to say that Team PM was able to get Flamebender down last Thursday after a couple of good nights' work on the fight. It was really satisfying to work at it, gradually getting closer, until we finally got her down! Mage and I would have been happier of course if we'd actually been alive at the end, but we were behind you a 1000% guys! Much in the manner of Lorewalker Cho!
Tuesday, we tried heroic Gruul and Beastlord Darmac, and they were SO RUDE to us! We only had 13 people in the group, and were without Mageartin, so while it was good practice, those heroic modes are still a bit above our pay grade, probably until we get Hrira back (hope, hope). So, for now, we'll go back to clearing on normal - we were thrilled to have Mama pop into mumble last night to say she'll plan to give her wrist a tryout with us Thursday night! So, H&F, Oregorger and Flamebender will be on the menu for Thursday and we'll see how it goes. We do want to get to heroics, but since Baelz will be out for a week or two starting April 23rd or so, I'm not sure we'll have the guns for heroic until he returns, and hopefully Rira rejoins us as well. So, we'll work on a full clear of BRF on normal - and maybe go back and clear HM on heroic, to get the Ahead of the Curve achievement before patch 6.2 drops.
Despite not getting heroic Gruul or Beastlord, it was great fun - we always seem to have a good time, even in an evening of wipes, and that's what it's all about!

Here we have a Flexorama report from Mageartin:
Flexorama:
I subbed in for Nina to host the Flexorama this week.
We tried some pulls on Heroic to get the Kargath Bladefist acheesement, and after 3 pulls realized that we should really try it on Normal. Several people wanted gear, and we decided to continue on in Heroic. We wiped the floor with him pretty quickly, and went on to The Butcher.
Well, after a wipe, and a few funny butt pulls (aided by people needing beer), we wiped again, and by that time several more guildies had come online. We got them in, and sadly wiped at 0% on the meat man. Argh. We called it after that.

And I actually made it in to the Team Z raid last Sunday, so here's my take on it. Look for a better report by Tvath in the comments:
I was able to join Team Z for a little visit to Blackrock Foundry. We steamrollered through Gruul, had one wipe on Hans and Franz (seriously my second least favorite fight in the raid, tied with That Bastard What Has all the Trains) and stomped Beastlord Darmac. I was working on an alliterative rhyme involving Darmac and tarmac but I'm too exhausted for this.
We then took a few pokes at Oregorger (least favorite fight in the raid FTFMUL) to learn the dance. We used raid markers to mark all the corridors so that Crackzert could call out that Oregorger was heading for the one I was standing in the middle of, and I could laugh bitterly as I failed to get out of the way in time again.

That's all I have for this week.
For the Horde!
