HILLARY CLINTON
Perspective: Hillary Clinton was 51 when this happened. She was not some 19 year old kid fibbing to impress a girl...
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday she made a mistake when she claimed she had come under sniper fire during a trip to Bosnia in 1996 while she was first lady.
In a speech in Washington and in several interviews last week Clinton described how she and her daughter, Chelsea, rran for cover under hostile fire shortly after her plane landed in Tuzla, Bosnia.
Several news outlets disputed the claim and a video of the trip, showed Clinton walking from the plane, accompanied by her daughter. They were greeted by a young girl in a small ceremony on the tarmac and there was no sign of tension or any danger.

"So I made a mistake. That happens. It proves I'm human, which, you know, for some people, is a revelation."

She also told CNN last week: "There was no greeting ceremony and we were basically told to run to our cars. Now that is what happened."
BRIAN WILLIAMS
Williams has said on television multiple times that he flew into Baghdad with the Navy's SEAL Team Six, which was responsible for carrying out the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, about three days after the US invaded Iraq, according to The Huffington Post. He has also said he received a SEAL's knife and a piece of the helicopter from the bin Laden raid as gifts.
BILL O'REILLY
O’Reilly’s past claims that he "reported on the ground in active war zones from El Salvador to the Falklands" and "survived a combat situation in Argentina during the Falklands War."
CONSEQUENCES
BILL O'REILLY continues to lie like a bloviating, bombastic dickwad on a cable channel designed as a platform for lying, bloviating, bombastic dickwads.
BRIAN WILLIAMS, as a broadcast journalist having been in a position involving the public trust, is shoveling frozen roadkill somewhere north of the Arctic Circle in Siberia.
HILLARY CLINTON, as a First Lady living in the most important white house on the planet and married to the most powerful public official on the planet and thus also having been in a position involving tremendous public trust, is a darling front-runner candidate for the highest office on said planet for a Party that has lost touch with integrity in its unhinged prowl for relevancy amidst a pesky swarm of batshit crazy gnats, because the authenticity and integrity to articulate and single-mindedly pursue helpful ideas for expanding seas of not-rich people just isn't realistic for making a fuckton of money.
This is another Hillary "mistake," like her five-year Iraq War "gaffe." The fact she supposedly misremembered that she and Chelsea did not dodge a horrific spray of gunfire but in fact were being "greeted by a young girl "in a calm, secure setting was not a mistake but a lie. A big lie exactly like the kinds neither you nor I tell. A blatant lie for an obvious selfish purpose akin to that which inspired O'Reilly and Williams. But she was married to the President. And it's a good thing because otherwise she'd be wearing muklucks, standing on a dogsled and chewing on some kind of rancid fat with Williams.
Now Hillary insists that this was a mistake and that it simply proves she's human, exactly in the same way that the rest of us remember wrestling a nest of anacondas to save a starving village of sacred pygmies in our most human moments. So she may have a point.
And her followers are perfectly willing to take her word for it, much as they would if you or I admitted we once tossed a Volkswagon over a row of sixteen capybaras wearing platform shoes and tall tiaras. No questions asked.
But no. It wasn't a mistake and neither was her Iraq War decision to support a fraudulent, unnecessary immoral humanitarian crises for years.
In the sniper case, her real mistake, like Brian Williams, was thinking that she would not get caught. Poor Brian caught the ricochet. There was a consequence. After all, he was a reporter, perhaps one of the highest representatives of the sacredness of truth in the solar system.
Hillary got caught, too. She told her lie one too many times and finally someone bothered to do a little research. There were witnesses. There was a film.
But Hillary was not a reporter. She was just a lowly First Lady. So no slopping sled dogs for her!
Imagine if she were President?
Hmmmm. Wait a minute...
Fraud and lying are key indicators of character.
Now, there will be those, once again, who will remind me that I will not win anyone over to Bernie Sanders by attacking Hillary. Because of course the damning truth alone, the kind that would result in significant demotions and perhaps some gnawing bad thoughts for most of us, are not enough to cause people to reconsider their inscrutable allegiance to this Hillary.
This is kind of like the Democratic Party's version of Bush's Medal of Freedom, where people who fail spectacularly get feted in public.
We've proven that Democratic politicians can succeed without integrity. Democrats apparently no longer have any expectations of trust in their leaders. In fact, they'd probably question the political viability of an honest politician. Honesty isn't realistic.
And this is why Clintonian "mistakes" will persist wherever they roam, however high they fly. And why Democrats will continue to be harassed by batshit crazy gnats.
