• Average hourly earnings of private-sector production and nonsupervisory employees 5 cents to $21.07 in August.
• Average work week for all employees on non-farm payrolls rose slightly to 34.6 hours in August.
• Average hourly earnings for all employees on private non-farm payrolls rose 8 cents to $25.09
• The manufacturing workweek remained unchanged at 40.8 hours.
• The average workweek for production and nonsupervisory employees on private non-farm payrolls was unchanged at 33.7 hours.

Demographic breakdown of official (U3) seasonally adjusted jobless rate:
• African American: 9.5 percent, up from 9.1 percent in July
• Latino: 6.6 percent, down from 6.8 percent in July
• Asian (not seasonally adjusted): 3.5 percent, down from 4.0 percent in July
• American Indian (data not collected on monthly basis)
• White: 4.4 percent, down from 4.6 percent in July
• Adult women (20 and older): 4.7 percent, down from 4.9 percent in July
• Adult Men (20 and older): 4.7 percent, down from 4.8 percent in July
• Teenagers (16-19): 16.9 percent, up from 16.2 percent in July
Duration of unemployment:
• Less than five weeks: 2.095 million, down from 2.488 million in July
• 5 to 14 weeks: 2.374 million, up from 2.257 million in July
• 15 to 26 weeks: 1.250 million, up from 1.188 million in July
• 27 weeks and more: 2.187 million, up from 2.180 million in July
