During an apparent arrest for petty theft on a bus, a Boston Police officer uses mase on an uncooperative female suspect, then as she continues to resist pulls out his weapon at which point the crowd on the bus, who are filming everything begin to chant "Officer Drop the Gun" and eventually, he does.
Warning Explicit and Violent footage.

With multiple witnesses filming the altercation on their cell phones, bystanders can be heard yelling “drop the gun,” “officer, please put down the gun” as the cop can be seen looking back at them and seeing he is being recorded.
After holstering his weapon, the officer continues to attempt to control the woman who flails at him while climbing up on bus seats in an attempt to get away.
Witnesses can heard pleading with her “sister, chill out” and “relax,” saying “we’re here for you.”
Another officer enters the bus and — after initially reaching for his weapon causing more calls to “put down the gun” — takes control of the woman who continues to attempt to twist away as bystanders continue to tell her to stop resisting, saying they have filmed the whole altercation.
Now the first Officer on the scene is Black, so that at least partially eliminates one obvious concern [although it should be noted that black officers are well known to be just as violent with potential black offenders if not moreso than anyone else, case in point: several of the defendant Officers in the Freddie Grey case are Black - so some of these guys are
Blue, not Black] but the thing that truly strikes me is that he clearly out-weighs her by
150-200 100-150 lbs and is about 1' taller and he still
can't find a way to get control of the subject without resorting to a) mace and b) his gun?
He should be ashamed of himself.
What in the world is going on with Police training? Don't they teach them how to get physical control of someone, I mean basic wrestling and grappling, anything? It's not like she terribly skilled and pulling some Israeli Ju Jitsu Krav Magrav moves on him.
She's Slap Boxing and he has to go to his gun over it?
Something is seriously wrong here.
At any rate the incident didn't end violent, well, not as violently as it could have ended and you have to say that it only ended less badly because the bystanders refused to leave and let this poor woman be left alone to fend off the officers. They didn't interfere, they didn't take sides, but the refused to let a tragedy take place right in front of their eyes.
That's what Black Lives Matter [has been and should always] be about, not hurting cops, but not letting them hurt someone else unnecessarily either.
