Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), and Michael McCaul (R-TX) introduced the “No Raise for Congress” Act today to end automatic pay increases for members of Congress.
From Congresswoman Sinema's official page:
Congress doesn't deserve a raise, especially when so many American families are still struggling to recover from the recession. I am proud to join a bipartisan group of my colleagues in introducing this common sense reform that saves tax dollars and puts hard-working American families first
I can get behind this, it's a step in the right direction. But I ultimately believe we, the voters, should be the ones to decide if they get a raise or not. It would send a message on whether or not we approve of the work they're doing. But, like I said, I can get behind this.
