Today, a short astrology lesson which I hope will be helpful in your daily life.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group gives Kossacks a safe place to check in, a daily diary where we can let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, earthquakes, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It also allows us to find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, earthquakes etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a Kosmail and ask to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
We do have a diary schedule. But, when you are ready to write that diary, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMOM a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FloridaSNMOM is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.

This is an easy way to plan and schedule by using the Moon's travel through the zodiac signs. The Moon has two major cycles. One is called the sideral period where the Moon makes a complete cycle through all twelve zodiac signs. This takes about 27.5 days. The other is the synodic cycle from one New Moon to the next which takes about 29.5 days. Maybe I'll do a piece on the synodic cycle some other time.
As our Moon travels through each sign of the zodiac it makes angular relationships with the planets (the Sun is included in the planets, the Earth is not). These relationships are called aspects. There are five major aspects for this discussion - the conjunction: 0 degrees, the sextile: 60 degrees, the square: 90 degrees, the trine: 120 degrees and the opposition: 180 degrees. Astrology considers the aspects important because it shows the blending of the planets' energies.
When our receptive Moon blends with other planets, it reflects the other planet's energies to us. When the Moon makes its last major aspect to a planet, and before it moves into the next sign, it goes through a period called void of course (VOC).
The VOC period is our focus for today. The VOC period can last anywhere from a few seconds to one or two days. During the period when the Moon is VOC every few days there are traditional dos and don'ts in western astrology. Basically, the Moon is not receiving or reflecting any planetary energies during a VOC.
Stores and restaurants may be quieter than normal, judgment may be impaired and people may have a difficult time making decisions. Working with others in groups may not go well - people often feel unconnected. Things started on a VOC Moon can have unexpected results. This could be great for creative projects if you are not planning a certain outcome.
Don't plan to start new things such as a job search or a new job, a class or a conference; you could experience false starts, errors and/or difficulties.
Don't send an important letter or email, initiate an important contact, make an agreement, or sign a contract.
Don't buy things of value. They will not fulfill their intended purpose.
Don't try to sell something.
Don't start a relationship. You probably won't see the person for who they really are.
Don't make plans, unless it's something you don't really want to do.
Do use the time for routine matters.
Do organize and get rid of stuff.
Do meet with someone if it's about a conflict. Remember people can feel unconnected, so schedule that meeting with your boss about being late!
Do go through all those emails that pile up.
Do houseclean, relax, listen to music, surf the internet or read a book.
Do throw a party; serve already prepared foods; play games and throw out the rules.
Do whatever recharges your creativity, relaxes you and allows you to tackle the next round of work when the Moon changes signs.
Do travel if someone else is doing the driving and its routine for them.
Do shop at the dollar store - maybe you'll find an unexpected treasure.
If you'd like to try aligning your plans with the VOC Moons, check out the Astrolore website. You can sign up for her weekly newsletter which has the times of the VOC Moon each week at the end of the articles.
Thanks for reading.
