Welcome to Thursday Coffee Hour. This is an open topic thread so help yourself to the goodies and sit a spell and let us know what is new with you. I have been doing art all my life. Sometimes a picture will come to me and I'll work to get what is in mind on the computer screen. Some of my pictures have a story behind them. Here are some pictures with some background notes of how they cam to be.
I Can Dream is from a poem I wrote several years ago.
I Can Dream
I Dreamed a Dream is from my favorite musical
Les Miserables. I just love this
song.
I Dreamed a Dream
Jupiter Rising was inspired by something I saw on Facebook which used some drawings of what the planets would like if they were as close as our moon.
Jupiter Rising
Lady of the Lake became a special favorite of mine when a Hugo award winning artist I greatly admire put it on her web site.
Lady of the Lake
Lights and Shadows is just one of those pictures where I went wow! My late brother Mike loved it which makes it all that more special.
Lights and Shadows
Morning Has Broken is so serene and calms me every time I see it. I have a large version of this as a centerpiece on my living room wall.
Morning Has Broken
On the Edge of a Dream was another picture that made me go wow! A couple days later the
poem of the same name came to me.
On the Edge of a Dream
Phoenix Rising was inspired by the myth of the phoenix rising from the sun that I heard when I was a child living in New Mexico.
Phoenix Rising
Playing Catch is inspired by my love of dolphins.
Playing Catch
Pouring Starlight actually was inspired by a dream. The only thing I remember from the dream was this image.
