Sometimes it is, you know, choices between people that none of whom excite you, but study it enough to figure out, okay, if I vote for this person over that person, I'm more likely to see progress on something I care about. If you can't get excited, be pragmatic and do it anyway.

No. Sorry. I won't. Do it anyway? Is that your message? Is this what pragmatism has been reduced to? I once thought pragmatism was supposed to be about differentiating between an electable candidate with strong backing and an unelectable candidate supported only by the the wing of the party. But if there is anything we should have come to understand from 2008 it is excite or go home.
