It was more than a month in planning, getting permissions from the town for the space, and engineering and preparing for our big tabling event in downtown New London NH this past Saturday, Oct 10th. To get it started off, Dave sums it up for us. Join us!
Dave welcomes visitors to our Bernie table in Downtown New London
It was a brisk autumn day in foliage season and we got a much better turnout for Bernie than we anticipated in deeply red New London.

Follow me below the fold for a neat Bernie story and some good eye candy.
This is a story about the Lake Sunapee Region for Bernie group. But we’ll start with Dave, a resident of Sunapee who lives completely off the grid, and with two solar battery systems, he walks the walk with his carbon footprint. It was his invention the “Solar Stroller”, that gave us the idea that we could show videos of Bernie answering questions for people who were on the fence at a tabling event. With the “solar stroller” we were capable of powering one of the two laptops we used to show youtube videos of "Bernie Meets the Iowa Press" and also the latest Bernie anthems.

Jay is our group magician. It is a skill he has been exercising for children’s benefit for over 40 years. He is also a retired long time VT state Employee & Union member, so he has been a long time Bernie supporter. We thought he would appeal just to the young while we talked politics with their parents, but magic appeals to all generations.
Kids of All Ages Love Magic.
Of those involved in todays event, over half the team members (all over 65) had never participated in a political campaign, nor contributed financially to one in their lives before Bernie. And yet together they put together a fabulous event, where we gave out lots of swag like buttons, bumper stickers, flyers, and signs for the campaign. We talked to a couple hundred people and got several dozen new members on our email list, all potential volunteers for the campaign. We even made contact with some students for Bernie at nearby Colby Sawyer College. And that doesn’t count the honks and thumbs up from passing cars on Main Street
Everyone in the group contributed to the success of the tabling festival. Clara did the event planning with the town offices. Linda and George made the cookies and coffee, and John did the tech and sound engineering work. Dreamcatcher handled logistics. And Alayna provided her usual energy and Facebook prowess to advertise our event. But if you want to know if, like Bernie, we have something that people wanted, while tabling, yes….
Yes, we had video and music…..”Oh What a fight”
Yes, we had plenty of hot coffee…people stop to talk over a cuppa’
Yes, we had punkins…but no time to carve them.
Yes, we had magic…but you already knew that.
Yes, we had cookies…Bernie cookies!!!!
By the time the they saw the cookies, nobody could resist the Bernie appeal. And if you were wondering what CaptainPoptart did, ... just hung around with the best people in the world all day, and enjoyed watching everybody leave our event happy and hopeful. This is just the best you can feel, about your candidate and about yourself and the people who have your back. We know we’re gonna win this thing!!!! We’re the Lake Sunapee Region for Bernie and we’re Feelin' the Bern!!!!
