Justin Trudeau has been elected as the new prime minister of Canada, of which there should be much rejoicing here on the southern side of the border. The son of the late, great Pierre Trudeau who led that nation during the 1970s and 80s, he is a breath of fresh air and a much-needed voice of economic and environmental reason. Goodness knows he will see eye-to-eye a lot more with Barack Obama, than the rigid, right-wing, now ex-prime minister Stephen Harper. Congrats to Mr. Trudeau and the Canadian people for throwing off the yoke of the divisive Harper policies that have messed up their economy, marginalized minorities and gave tax breaks to polluters. It is a victory for our northern cousins, and great news for America as well.
