Rep. Alan Grayson has filed an ethics complaint against Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) with the congressional Ethics Committee in the aftermath of his inadvertent confession of misusing taxpayer funds to advance a politically partisan agenda in behalf of the GOP.
The full video of Grayson discussing that complaint on CNN can be found on the PolitiusUSA.com web site that I cannot post here due to copyright concerns but you may read for yourself.
Grayson said, “The fact is that he (McCarthy) was bragging about the fact that he was wasting taxpayer money. Four and a half million dollars and counting, in order to destroy a Democrat’s political career.” Is why he is filing the Ethics Complaint.
He also said in his complaint that “Representative Kevin McCarthy and Trey Gowdy have violated federal law and House rules by using funds appropriated to the Select Committee on Benghazi to oppose the Presidential candidacy of Hillary Clinton.’ .' This is a clear and unequivocal misuse of appropriated funds for political purposes, which is prohibited by the regulations of the Committee on House Administration."
The Republican have developed a pattern of abuse of power within the House Republican majority over the years with such publicly funded investigations as Swift boat, the Whitewater investigations and now this costing the taxpayers millions in wasted time and tax dollars. this habitual abuse of power by the GOP must stop and this complaint is the first step towards that goal.
Finally, Democrats are fighting back, but normal democratic process will only return when Republican lose their House majority and mob rule comes to an end.
