With the deadline for this bernspark.com crowdfund camapaign coming to a close. I ask my fellow Kossaks to put me over the top. Get this campaign to $480 by midnight eastcoast time tonight. Even if you have to BERN the midnight oil……
The lit is designed by one of the Sanders for NY Slack design team, Alison. The printers are in West Harrison NY Aligraphics.com. They are a Union shop. But let me back track, this is my 14th campaign since 2004. I work mostly in Field Operations. I swore off elections after 2010, but after seeing Bernie get those large crowds in Portland and LA, I looked to get involved here in Westchester NY.
No one had anything going on. So I put up a website Westchester4Bernie. In fact my last article was a call for folks to be a District Delegate for Bernie.
SO I ordered got a NY state voter database for Westchester County, with no phone numbers. A Volunteer wrote a program to scrape phone numbers from White Pages & the Yellow pages, at a 42% hit rate. So now we have a bit over 100k phone numbers, out of 256k Democrats in the county. 2 Weeks ago during the national conference call with organizers, we broke up into state calls and cause I had created so many Bernie events I was called on to speak. I mentioned how we got our phone call lists. Since then Syracuse and Binghamton for Bernie have contacted me and want help getting phone numbers for call lists. So we're doing this BERNing the Metro North thing. We go to train stations and flyer. Its easy and fun for the new volunteer and then we move them on to phone banking or door knocking. But I'm printing most of the lit, a quarter age flyer printed on both sides. I've spent over $150 on ink since September.
About 92 people have volunteered since Sept. 16th. All kinds of people have started to chip in, a videographer that edits vids, graphic artist, IT, Programmers, webdesign, Data entry. A guy that protested the Vietnam war and was SDS. And a college kid came to me with a thumb drive with a statistical analysis of the NY 2008 & 2014 elections, a freaking gold mine. We had an awesome debate watch party at the Yonkers Brewery, 30 people showed up, we had Bernie swag packs for the first 3 debate bingo winners.
Anyway, we need folks to chip in a minimum of $20 in this bernspark crowd funding campaign. $467.08 gets us 10,000 pieces of nice 4x6 color glossy lit for Westchester County printed at a union printshop, Aligraphics.com. Including donations from kossacks earlier in the week we've raised $190. Our volunteers are stepping up and they deserve professionally printed Bernie Lit. 10,000 pieces will allow us to ramp up operations, the campaign is considering contracting out to a printshop, but thats just talk so far, we need lit now, not in January. The revolution will not be televised, it will be live.... See the Bernie Lit campaign and donate on BernSpark. #EnoughIsEnough
