Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers irked by fan's bigoted comment during moment of silence for Paris:
Rodgers said that during the moment of silence for the victims of the terrorist attack in Paris, he heard a fan make a prejudiced comment. [...]
It was unclear what, exactly, Rodgers heard a fan say, but on social media there were several accounts of fans in Green Bay saying things like, “Death to Muslims” and “Muslims suck.” There were also a number of fans who tried to begin a “Go Pack Go” cheer during the moment of silence. One fan could be heard loudly yelling at those fans, “Have some respect.”
That jingle you hear isn't bells, it's Santa cash for New Jersey mall:
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports admission to the Cherry Hill Mall's Adventure to Santa costs between $35 and $50. The packages come with photos or video of the visit.
The move has sparked anger from many parents, some of whom say the charge inherently pushes away low-income families, which they say runs counter to the spirit of the holiday.
Federal judge hearing yet another case on Ohio voting laws:
Attorneys representing Ohio Democrats in a legal dispute over changes to the swing state’s voting laws said Monday that a federal judge should strike down the adjustments because their burden on voters outweighs any benefit to the state. [...]
The case also challenges rules related to absentee and provisional ballots, and limitations to in-person, early voting locations. Democrats want Watson to block the policies from being enforced.
Palin finally admits her 2008 answer to Katie Couric on which newspapers she read was "crappy."
American Indians object to possible delisting of Yellowstone grizzly bears:
Reportedly, officials are mulling a lift after finding bear populations “stable,” a move that’s garnered vocal support around Park County. Tribal representatives are voicing their own concerns, citing the importance grizzlies bear on their cultural heritage, past and present. From the Missoulian:
A former chairman of Arizona’s Hopi Tribe, Ben Nuvamsa, says his people regard the grizzly as an “uncle” who possesses strong healing powers and plays a central role in traditional ceremonies. He said tribes want to “keep it from being a trophy animal and prevent the industrialization of bear habitat.”
March other activities linked to Paris climate conference may be scaled back or canceled:
“This [COP21 conference] is an absolutely necessary step in the battle against climate change and of course it will take place,” French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said on Monday. French Energy Minister Ségolène Royale said the conference is more important now than ever: “If not, terrorism wins,” she said. The head of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, Christiana Figueres, echoed that sentiment.
But Valls also said on Monday that “everything which was outside of the COP [climate talks], a whole series of concerts, of rather festive events, will be without a doubt cancelled.”
