I’ve been more than a little annoyed by the constant harping about how Sec. Clinton is a “corporatist” or a “neo-liberal”.
The last straw for me is when she tried to explain (for the 5,847th time) that of course she gets donations from people who work on Wall Street, she was the Senator from New York and she references 9/11. It was clumsy and it rang like a siren to those who are predisposed to not liking her.
Even though her point was lost, she still had a point.
Let’s take a look at a real “progressive” champion, and see what his donations look like.
I live in Illinois, and the only person who would have my vote over Sec. Clinton is Sen. Durbin. He is not only my favorite politician, he’s one of my favorite people. Let’s look at his donations.

Whoa! Look at Sen. Durbin’s lifetime donations. Archer Daniels Midland? Talk about a large, nasty corporation. How about Northrup Grumman? A huge defense contractor, Sen. Durbin? For shame. Chicago Board of Trade and the CME Group? Why, that’s just like Wall Street. What the heck is going on here?
Simple. Those are all Illinois companies. They are giving to and Illinois Senator. Not the companies, mind you (although there is some pac money there too). No, these are individuals who work for those companies.
So, just to put this out there so I can say that it has been said, Sec. Clinton received donations from PEOPLE who live in New York. Just like this list for Sen. Durbin.
So, stick with the real issues, not the made up ones. We’ll have enough of the made up ones once we get to the General Election and we have to face the GOP.
