To those who missed it, DEA Chief Chuck Rosenberg just stated that “smoking marijuana for medicinal use has never been proven to be safe or effective”

So… here I am again. <rant>
Thank you Chuck… thank you for fanning the fire that burns so brightly in my heart. Thank you for proving yet again that government and stupidity are still working hand-in-hand. Thank you… for you! Your inarticulate, disassociated and patently false statement has gone viral… as well it should… and once again shown that some of the strongest allies we have in the war against the war on drugs are people just such as yourself. When the mouthpiece of the DEA bucks validated science and pure common sense in such a flagrant way, it really does nothing more than prove that the clueless are all too often placed in charge… and it brings out the kooks and nuts to help dig the (now quite large) hole you are all digging for yourselves.
You can run through the “talking points” your crowd seems to love so much. I will no longer respond to these “arguments” however as they have ALL been repeatedly asked, answered and proven false. Yes, FALSE! Regular use of marijuana is less detrimental to an adult body than regular use of Aspirin. It is no more addictive than chocolate and it is physically impossible to overdose on it. Those are FACTS Chuck! I have come to the conclusion that your ilk’s blind ignorance on this subject, and complete refusal to accept scientific data as the facts they are, HAS to be by design.
You can hawk your “lack of studies” all you want too. Anyone with a jot of intelligence knows full well that there are indeed many studies proving the efficacy of marijuana for treating a whole raft of symptoms… reams of them in fact. Most of these studies have been performed outside the US though, and that means WITHOUT the DEA and Big Pharma getting the opportunity to “dip their fingers” in the results and either skew them beyond usefulness or simply bury the whole thing. What you really mean is that there are no studies that prove that your thinking on the subject is anything but complete hooey. Well… with the exception of those “studies” contracted by Big Pharma or some other biased source for the purpose of propaganda (these have all been repeatedly debunked).
And before anyone even attempts to argue this point with me, they need to read this:

Regardless of how or long you wail and cry about the fictional “dangers”, I KNOW from firsthand experience that marijuana can save lives. I’ve seen it happen right before my eyes.
I am not claiming that marijuana is without its dangers, but only that those dangers are analogous to those associated with chocolate or aspirin (less even, as you CAN overdose on both of those)… and any intoxication could be likened to taking a dose of decongestant or any other over the shelf drug that gets away with the “do not operate heavy machinery” disclaimer. Certainly its dangers are far less than any one of a slew of legal medications I see advertised on television which seem all too often to include “and in rare cases death” along with “suicidal thoughts” and other equally nasty side-effects. If I am allowed to risk my life to avoid an allergic reaction to pollen, or help with my depression, where is the logic in restricting a medication that has been proven to save lives because a few flawed studies have shown that it might have a tiny adverse effect?
You see? It’s simple really. You haven’t a good leg to stand on in this argument. Your logic is flawed, and obviously so, and yet you continue to fail to see the writing on the wall… despite it being in 10’ tall neon-lit letters. Contrary to your belief, the populace is not as stupid as you think (or are, as the case may well be). We don’t just have logic and science on our side, we now have the majority… and we’ve always had the will.
I’m done playing softball with idiots like you… tangle with me at your own risk.
