Anon didn't do any hacking or doxing because the facebook profiles listed etc. are public and these crackers are openly proud of their affiliations (online anyway), and this suggests an interesting experiment in action.
The list http://pastebin.com/... appears to mostly consist of ordinary assholes caught in a clever social media search algorithm accomplished by crowd-sourced spying and trolling on right-wing social networks using meat-computers (people) following leads, capturing URLs and searching for relevant news stories or easily accessible public records such as current convicts, charges filed and the like.
It is also likely that any such flash-mob search crew would have captured much more than this release (as Anon implies in the intro), including screen captures of wiped websites or FB pages, I believe that this is just a teaser. It's an invitation to let the rest of us pull on the threads and is really quite clever in that respect. Let everyone else do the heavy lifting.
Just suppose their intent was to hype the hell out of this release, imply guru-technowizard powers to soon be on display and then just dump legally acquired data in such a way that many local assholes get outed in their own communities to not-like-minded neighbors, employers, business associates etc..
This is different from typical investigative journalism and activism on the net or in media because they are not going after a few big fish, but a lot of little fish that the big fish depend on.
What Anon has done here is perfectly legal, it is carefully targeted, it is clever, it is easily replicated and I like it.
