“The Day Of Wailing and Gnashing Of Teeth” (snark).
It is the first day of the rollout of Daily Kos 5.0.
A certain fact is illustrated here: Some folks just cannot deal with change. But the old saying also applies here: change is the only constant. There’s really no help for it.
I’m getting a feel for the new editors and the new methods of posting and managing Comments. It’s a learning curve, sure. But I’m still finding it quite doable. I’m surprised at how little trouble I’m having adjusting to the new digs. And, frankly, I’m getting to like WYSIWYG editing.
I respectfully suggest to some of the critics that they take some time and give it a chance. Make your problems with it known, sure. Even though rolled out, it’s certain to be a work in progress. But do please give it its chance.
And I do indeed appreciate the long, hard slog the dev team just put in getting this out. I warn them, however: it’s not finished yet. (It’s the nature of the beast: new software needs to be tweaked and twiddled and tuned until it can really be said to be implemented.)
So, friends: Please don’t abandon us just yet, OK?
:-)
