So, tomorrow is moving day for me. I am leaving just about everything behind cuz it turns out my car can’t tow, so it will be a whole new beginning for me. My clothes, my electronics and a few of my cats are all that is going with me, but I figured you guys would want the update on my cats. It’s been a sad few weeks for me, cuz I’m going to be missing my babies...
My girl Sheba is currently with SAINTS SPCA in Ponchatoula being acclimated and observed and soon to be up for adoption. I took her Saturday and she’s already become a lap cat over there.
Punkin the former Office Kitty is with my former assistant and her son, who really loves Punkin, so she’s good.
I am now going straight to California and cutting out Idaho, cuz it’s just too much and I need to find a place as soon as I can so I can start my new job.
So, on my way out, Bert and Cinnamon are coming with me to Dallas, where they will be joining kossack txcatlin’s furry family! They’re buddies, so I was glad they could go together…
TeeTee, Bambi, Mardi, and Thumper are coming with me to California. Sometime later this winter/spring, my ma and pop will come down to SoCal and get Bambi, as they’ve needed a kitty for a while and Bambi is a good fit for them.
The girls are only 10 pounders so they are small, but Thumper is a 20 pound bobtail, and he’s got a couple of medical issues — high anxiety — so he needs to stay with me. And TeeTee and Mardi are pretty much his little harem, so they’ll all be happy.
The ferals
I have 7 ferals.
Currently, Lainie the alpha male and Aries the only female and Snowy her oldest son operate as a unit with the 2 youngest kittens. I don’t have pics of the kittens, but one of them is pretty much just like Snowy and the other is a fluffy ball that looks like Aries.
The 3 adults — Lainie, Aries, and Snowy are going to a barn home once they are all caught. I’ve managed to get Lainie and Aries so the rescues will keep trying for Snowy and the rest if I can’t get them before I leave tomorrow afternoon.
My other 2 boys — Freckles and Lightning — are partners in crime and once they are caught, they also have another barn home, so everyone will be taken care of and warm.
The two kittens will be socialized and adopted out by PURRS of Hope rescue here in Hammond.
So that’s what’s happening with my fur babies. I’m going to miss them all very much and I’ll love them all forever with all my heart.
And sometime tomorrow afternoon, I leave Hammond for good on my way west to California! With 6 for the first couple days, so I’m sure I will be serenaded with the song of their people on the road.
Again — thanks to all of you who helped me out — my car is fixed — only thing I need to do is have a brake job in the next few months and it’s all good to go. I could’ve never done it without you all, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

more good news! all the night feeding ferals — all 5, 3 adults and 2 kittens — have been trapped! so all that’s left is my 2 boys Freckles and Lightning, and the rescues will take care of them this weekend or next week… :D
