What is going to be done about the political officials of Chicago and it’s police department? The most recent atrocity committed against the black people of Chi Town resulted in a boy suffering from medical problems shot dead and a black community activist shot dead in her home by the men in blue. Are the people going to do something themselves or will they wait meekly for the great white father in Washington to act on their behalf?
Frankly I’m tired of seeing poorly trained and criminal cops ((as per Ferguson and Cleveland police departments) gunning down African Americans and getting time off with pay and not having to pay any price for their actions. Injustice riles me up.
So what can be done about this? Can justice be obtained? I have an idea on one way to make a change. How about a museum revealing the ongoing police onslaught against the black community documenting it’s history. This could be like an audio visual center which archives and reveals all the unjust police homicides. This would have the effect of galvanizing public attention, and shaming the cops. It will undoubtedly make some cops angry. It will definitely piss off Fox News which is a good thing. But if shaming these blue meanies will work then ashamed they should be made to feel. No cop should be considered a hero or protected by a stone wall of bureaucracy for killing unarmed people in their homes.
Perhaps some activists will have the ability to put together a wall of shame honoring the victims of police violence and disgracing their killers. Perhaps something like making killer cops wear a scarlet letter ‘K’ (for killer) on their forehead whenever they are out in public with decent people would make them think twice before shooting a black man or woman again or anyone for that matter. Cops who kill unjustly are no better than non cops who kill unjustly. If they did it they should suffer disgrace and infamy and lose respect in the peoples eyes and serve their time in prison. When people in authority behave this way it's time to just say no to authority.
Okay I got that off my chest. What do you think about a museum honoring the victims of police violence? Would it help or hurt the situation for people to know the truth?
Police violence against minorities in Chicago is not something new. Here’s a crime from the past; The Murder of Fred Hampton. Guess who is implicated! It’s the blue meanies of Chi Town. This documentary shows how this recent wave of police violence against black activists is just the updated version of what they have done all along. Enjoy the video. Educate yourself and then do the right thing.
