I doubt I’m going to make any friends over this rant. Likely, it will fall by the wayside because there isn’t a picture of either candidate for the lead photo. Groan. le sigh. Here’s another diary from the Hillary Haters. Our once great website is going further down the drain. Why can’t this whiny, barely human piece of shit just understand that Madame President has already won the Democratic Primary?
I don’t hate Hillary Clinton. She’s an intelligent woman that has accomplished a great deal in her life. She’s faced a shit ton of actual hate from the right, and has continued being successful. Hate is a really fucking strong word. So I’m hoping that the people who hop into any diary related to the primary to bitch about Hillary Haters will read this and understand something about those of us who aren’t voting for her in the primary. Still with me? Ok, that’s about three of you. Good enough.
It’s not fucking personal. Hillary is the candidate, so she bears the brunt of the criticism for just how fed the fuck up I am, and we are, of the Establishment DNC/ Third Wave/DLC corporate shitstains that keep running to the right and legislating according to lobbyists. And it’s not the fault of the people that support her that she’s funded by the same corporations that back GOP candidates. It’s not the fault of her supporters that she chose a Monsanto lobbyist to head her campaign in Iowa. I’m not angry at anyone who decides that they would like Hillary Clinton to be their next president. But…
I’m fucking sick and tired of your hubris, and I’m fucking sick and tired of holding my nose to elect centrist (read: the GOP 25-35 years ago), corporate Democrats with no plan or desire to legitimately close the wealth gap and stop the cycle of endless war for fun and profit. It speaks to how fucking rigged this shitstem is every time I hear anyone use the words “presumptive nominee” or “inevitable”. It fucking disgusts me to see Democrats laughing and crowing about the disenfranchisement of an entire voting bloc in our own party because they’re convinced the only actual progressive running for president will, in their minds, be crushed by the machine.
I’m allowed a vote, and I vote for my best interests- and being given the opportunity to do so is getting harder than teaching braille to a fucking kitten. The argument that a mouthpiece for the rich and the war hawks with a (D) next to their name is better than any Republican is sickeningly accurate. That’s what sucks the most about the illusion of choice. We’re told that we have an opportunity to elect representatives, while what we’re really doing- in more cases than not- is electing whichever bullshit artist chosen by money instead of people will run off to DC and represent money. And it sucks that so many people in this country, in this party, on this website are comfortable with this process.
Bernie Sanders is right. We do need a political revolution. We need an awakening. We need to fight the oligarchs that have corrupted not only our private sector, but every corner of our public sector, including the people that represent us in Washington. We need more punk rock. We need more banjos. I have a hard time hating anything, but I reserve the right to get pissed about a lot of things. And the appearance of, if not the fact of, so many being so willing to roll over for a monied elite that cares as much for you as I do for another season of Two Broke Girls is one of the things I’m pissed about. The old devils truly are at it again. They just have different names.
