Ok, I have nothing to follow it up with. But I suspect we will be hearing that term shortly.
*******
After reading replies it looks like I need to expand on this thought.
In 1980 and 19841 the term “Reagan Democrats” was used during that election to describe democrats who were not willing to vote for Jimmy Carter due to his public image issues or Walter Mondale due to his lack of perceivable personality.
I am not a supporter of any US Presidential Candidate at this time.
The slow and steady drumbeat for Trump that has increased in intensity over the last few months has many prominent Republicans making public and private statements that they will not support a Trump Candidacy.
This is a reflection of the Classic Republican Voter who does not want a Zaphod Breeblebrox2 style Presidency. The want stability and lots of free space to ply their wares. They need a President who will serve the entire business community not just a selected few.
I have read pundits suggest that this classic Republican sees stability in Hillary Clinton.
The suggestion is that they see her as a more reliable and stable friend of the US Business Community and they see Trump as a Bull in a China Shop.
I suggest those People will soon be called “Hillary Clinton Republicans” or some variation on that theme. Political hack writer don’t usually give their best efforts to candidates so it is likely they will just re-use a familiar term.
Now I will offer an extra unsolicited opinion:
Trump will decline in favorability as the election approaches and even if another GOP Candidate takes the opportunity and makes good use of it, the media will still call that fraction of Republican Voters who were unwilling to associate with a Trump GOP, Clinton Republicans.
