Huff Post Live ran an article on San Diego Fox News 5 running a Broadcast error which posted a picture of President Obama as a rape suspect and then refusing to make an on-air correction or apology. In the clip the HP editors scan the Daily Kos Diary by SemDem calling out the Fox affiliate for refusing to acknowledge their "error" and highlighting their history of anti-Obama slant. Aol.Com gave SemDem further national exposure by publishing the HP Live video on their on-line news feed.
Great job, SemDem! Keep on writing. Another reason why Daily Kos is so important. Keep on publishing!
6:14 PM PT: MTmofo in comments below brought to my attention that the station has now apologized. I'd like to think the pressure brought on by SemDem had something to do with this. An excellent result!
7:20 PM PT: This whole business of the Fox 5 News staff posting the "shoulder shot" of Obama with the title "No Charges" got me to wondering how it came to be. Did they really just "accidentally" put his picture up and type in the text? I've never worked in a news room so I don't know how it all works but it seems pretty fishy to me. It is more plausible that it was intentional. Or perhaps they had this stock shot with title on file just waiting for a different story on Benghazi, or immigration, or Obamacare, or Birtherism, or just about any other conspiracy story upon which Fox and its affiliates have been waiting to pounce. Accidentally? On purpose? Or accidentally on purpose? I'd like to know.
