Sunday brought more horrifying acts of human torture and murder by
ISIS. Twenty-one
Egyptian Coptic Christians were beheaded in Libya by the terrorist group, as the victims cried out, "Jesus, help me."
Pope Francis, addressing members of the Church of Scotland, said:
"They were killed simply for the fact that they were Christians."
"The blood of our Christian brothers and sisters is a testimony which cries out be heard. It makes no difference whether they be Catholics, Orthodox, Copts or Protestants. They are Christians."
Egypt began air strikes against ISIS following the beheadings.
The killing of the Christians, who like thousands of Egyptians had travelled abroad to seek work, shocked their compatriots.
"Revenge is on the way," read the front-page banner of the official Al-Akhbar newspaper. Both the Coptic Church and the prestigious Islamic Al-Azhar institution condemned the attack.
It seems ISIS is declaring war against the world, targeting the United States, France, Egypt, Japan, Israel, Great Britain… The Egyptian government along with the US government will meet with EU/The European Union this week to discuss further military action.
