my experience with temporary loss of function due to nerve block.
Bear with me. i am typing with my left pinky. im right handed.
just got back from surgery clinic with both hands affected. left thumb and pinky ok, so i have a hannd. capitalzation not worth the contortions, spelling stinks. right arm totally useless from elbow down. does not hurt YET.
thumb and finger surgery on right hand. supposedly very painful, thus the nerve block. im in a sling so arm isnt flopping around. situation is temporary, lasting no more than 6 weeks.
wyy write this now? for the first time in my life im experiencing what its like to have major nerve damage. injury victims, those with war wo0unds, stroke victims, those afflicted by disease who have it in a major way, and IT WONT GET6 BE4TTER [yelling].
ladies and gents, i bow down before you, i honor your courage. this is your life, for the rest of your life.
my right arm is visible, lying in my lap. the flesh is hot. i feel my fingers in my brain, command them to move. i see the energy running down the neura2l pathways; nothing moves. looking at the screen, i see i have typed a lot of the words wrong with left hand. willpower is not enough.
aem is heavy, i had no idea that part of my body weighed so much. hmmm, what if it was my leg, or lower body. would i have the strength or balance to move my body out of a chair and onto a toilet?
i wont even know if i injure the arm. diabetic foot6 injuries come to0 mind.
tomorrow my arm will be obedie4nt, if pai9nful. i will be too loopy to type anything you would want to read. but it is all temporary.
read this today and take the time to make someo0nes life better. if you have nerve damage, please post a recommendation on how we cam help. i have not walked a mile in you shoes, just a few feet.
