With a backdrop of Rand Paul supporters, Senator Ted Cruz, Republican of Texas, formally announced his 2016 presidential bid on Monday at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, the first Republican to announce his candidacy for a 2016 presidential run. This declaration was made to a full house at Liberty University... a far right-wing educational institution in Lynchburg, VA. Why was the room so packed? Hmmm, that's a good question.
You see, school rules makes it mandatory for students to attend such brouhahas. That's got to be quite the embarrassment for the Cruz campaign. But come on, we get it... it's the only way Ted Cruz could fill such a large auditorium with a visual bursting with youth, vitality, and attractiveness. And those kids in the red t-shirts are awfully well dressed, and quite a sight. Or should I say slight? Seems Rand Paul just kicked Senator Ted Cruz right in the nuts. That's gonna leave a mark.
I guess what they say is true -- a picture really is worth a thousand words. Fyi, the students are wearing the #StandWithRand slogan.
Now it's true, Ted Cruz may have drawn a crowd of around 10,000 warm bodies to his campaign launch. But had these students NOT attended, they would have been charged 10 bucks for their un-patriotism. How's that for "liberty"?
