Getting his just desserts.
Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) is using the budget amendment vote-a-rama to
troll Sen. Tom Cotton with an amendment that
would:
[E]stablish a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to probability the purchase of stationary [sic] or electronic devices for the purpose of members of Congress or congressional staff communicating with foreign governments and undermining the role of the President as Head of State in international nuclear negotiations on behalf of the United States.
Well, that's pretty specific. It's also a fun reminder for
those vulnerable Republicans who signed on to Cotton's letter to Iran's leaders trying to scuttle nuclear negotiations that they're a bunch of idiots who will continue to regret having anything to do with Cotton, much less signing onto his letters.
It's unlikely to pass, and wouldn't be binding anyway, since the budget is a blueprint rather than actual law. But, hey, might as well get Republicans on the record about whether they agree that they should be able to undermine the nation's foreign policy.
