While we are right to be angered by the bigotry demonstrated in Indiana and elsewhere, consider this:
1. How strong can someone's "faith" actually be if they need the assistance of some state legislature in order to exercise it?
2. How weak must their god be if he/she needs Mike Pence's help to convey his/her message? I guess he/she is not as "all powerful" as some would like to think.
3. If civil rights weren't making progress, why do see all these desperate attempts to carve out little "exceptions" and "exemptions" for the faithful? Because they are running scared as their brand of intolerance is accepted less and less.
Keep up the protests, keep on fighting for what is right... but keep your spirits up and recognize these "religious freedom" laws for what they are: an encouraging sign of civil rights progress. The bigots out there may go down kicking and screaming, but make no mistake - they are going down.
