Hillary Clinton...
Jeb Bush...
A Clinton...or a Bush...AGAIN...for what will likely be 8 more years after 20 years in a row from 1989-2009.
I don't know about you folks, but I'm sick as shit of these DLC/RNC/Corporatist types running the country.
I'm sick of being told to vote for the lesser of two evils. After all, isn't the lesser of two evils still...EVIL?
The American people can't take 8 more years of this shit.
I think it's high time that we put an end to "politics as usual" where the biggest candidates from the biggest circle of "established" pols with the biggest bag of cash run campaigns full of empty promises ending in rewarded greed and a lifetime on the lecture circuit upon leaving office.
It's time that, ideologically, WE HAVE IT OUT...Democrats AND Republicans alike.
Here is what I propose for the 2016 presidential election:
In one corner, courtesy of the GOP:
Ted Cruz
That's right...this conservative fireplug and right-wing wet dream both rankles the GOP establishment AND stirs up the most rabid elements of the opposition.
He has never met a rich man's tax cut he didn't love. He has never met an abortion he didn't hate. He DESPISES the idea of any paths to immigration.
In short, he is the most conservative candidate that the GOP can nominate...and I want that man as a choice on the ballot opposite to ours if this ideological war is to be fought in front of the entire American public.
In the other corner, courtesy of the Democratic Party:
Bernie Sanders
The man's progressive credentials stem from more than just his self-identification as a "Democratic Socialist". He fights to not only save but enrich Social Security. He fights for expanded infrastructure. He fights for a more equitable tax system. He fights for working class wages. He fights for (and proposed) a single-payer health care system.
In short, he is the most progressive candidate that our side can nominate...and I want someone fighting on our side of the ticket who will do more than give speeches for votes. I want someone who actually fucking MEANS IT.
(Note: This is obviously a very brief list of reasons that both sides would LOVE these candidates)
"Politics as usual" isn't cutting the mustard...on either side. To quote Toby Ziegler a bit, I'll bet all the money in my pocket against all the money in your pocket that conservatives are just as sick of their corporatist blowhards as we are on the progressive side.
Let's have it out...conservative versus progressive...and let the PEOPLE decide which direction they want their country to travel. I think it's safe to say they deserve better than what they will get as things stand right now.
