It's been a long, slow, and
ugly ride downhill for Republican extremist and talk show host, Rush Limbaugh. Today he received another swift
'don't-let-the-door-hit-you-in-the -ass' kick from Emmis Communications. The parent company ended one of their longtime love affairs with Rush Limbaugh and the radio station that carries him, WIBC in Indianapolis.
The article in AllAccess.com relays a pathetic attempt by Emmis who try their best to let Premier and Rush Limbaugh down easy. 'It's not you, it's us,' they say while throwing the hate monger to the curb. Okay, they didn't say that. I said it. But they did it:
“PREMIERE has been a great partner, and RUSH has been an iconic part of WIBC’s heritage and success,” said SVP/Market Manager CHARLIE MORGAN. “WIBC has a strong line-up of live and local personalities delivering great radio, and we will continue to be INDIANAPOLIS’ home for listeners with a passion for conservative values and principles.”
LIMBAUGH’s last day on WIBC is July 3rd, with no word of a replacement. He just keeps tumbling, tumbling, tumbling. Rush has become talk radio's kiss of death according to
Time Magazine,
Wall Street Journal,
Forbes and a plethora of industry experts. Yet Bob Pittman, the CEO of iHeart Media (formerly Clear Channel), won't let go. One has to wonder if the Republican/Tea Party billionaires, the Koch Brothers, are paying off iHeart's highest to keep their puppet Limbaugh on air, spouting dishonest and dangerously provocative Right Wing propaganda. All of those years of hate speech have caught with Limbaugh. A massive social media protest was launched against him three years ago after he called Sandra Fluke a 'slut' and 'prostitute' during a 3-day malicious rant against the then college student. He had no idea what was about to hit him via new technology and a huge population of people who have been disgusted with him for decades. This most recent protest started with a small grassroots group that exploded into more groups, websites, and bloggers, all who continuously rally against Rush Limbaugh.
Below are links and simple ways to join the protest, a protest that has caused thousands of sponsors to pull their ads from Limbaugh's show. A Limbaugh Sponsor & Clear Channel/iHeart Petition has garnered over 131,000 signatures. That's a nasty, scary number of real consumers telling sponsors, 'We will no longer spend our hard-earned money buying from companies that support Rush Limbaugh and The Hate Parade (Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Savage…).' Sponsors have been listening and acting, because it's not about the money - it's about THE MONEY. Today's news is one more victory for American's concerned citizens.
