This has not gotten much attention in the west. But on Holocaust Remembrance Day, Netanyahu trivializes the Holocaust by comparison.
the extremist regime in Iran is oppressing its people; it is rushing forward and submerging the Middle East in blood and suffering – in Yemen, in Syria, in Lebanon, in Iraq, in Gaza and across the border of the Golan Heights.
Just as the Nazis aspired to crush civilization and to establish a “master race” to replace it and control the world while annihilating the Jewish people, so too does Iran strive to gain control over the region, from which it would spread further, with the explicit intent of obliterating the Jewish state. Iran is advancing in two tracks: the first is in developing the ability to arm itself with nuclear weapons and stockpile ballistic missiles; and the second – exporting the Khomeinist revolution to many countries by widely using terrorism and taking over large parts of the Middle East.
. . . .
The bad deal that is being made with Iran demonstrates that the historic lesson has not been internalized. The West is yielding in the face of Iran’s aggressive actions. Instead of demanding a significant dismantling of the nuclear program in Iran – a country that clearly states its plans to exterminate six million Jews here and elsewhere, to eradicate many countries and many regimes – the superpowers back down

Put aside the "master race" comparison, of which there is absolutely no evidence, the extermination charge rests on the assertion that Iran's former prime minister, and at least one of the Mullahs, stated that he wanted to wipe Israel off the map. How Iran could kill six million Jews without killing millions of non-Jews is never addressed by Netanyahu and Co.
But what's important is that the "wiping off the map" remark was in the political context, not military. That is, wiping off the map in the same way that the Soviet Union and Rhodesia were wipe off the map. Or, as many claim, in the same way that Israel is trying to wipe Palestine off the map.
As for the first paragraph, he leaves out the Iran is supporting groups fighting ISIL and al Qaeda in Iraq, Yemen and Syria. I guess Netanyahu is pulling for those two groups to capture those countries. Not to mention that the U.S. is tacitly, if not explicitly, cooperating with Iran in the fighting in two of those countries.
But the truth means nothing to a liar and demagogue like Netanyahu. Someone without any shame. Who will use the Holocaust for political propaganda. Even on Holocaust Remembrance Day.
