I am one of the lucky ones. It is common for me to cite my experience with depression and a murder-suicide plan in comments where the problems are being discussed. I had mental health care, medications, and a nursing career that included psychiatric training and experience. It's been 21 years. The memories are very clear.
This could also protect the lives of parents, siblings, spouses, children, extended family and friends from the pain, anguish and guilt of losing a loved one to suicide.
