On Iran:
The Iranian people just elected a new President -- and he is way more moderate than the old one. The Iranian people want to rejoin the world community. Shouldn't we let them have the opportunity to change their ways?
On Foreign Wars:
Who elected American to be the World's Policeman (or World's Bully)? To go to war for faulty motives (Oil) and unproven evidence (WMD). To leave a chaotic vacuum in our wake, so that groups like ISIL can slip in and fill the voids, that we so often leave behind. When do the people who send us to war, ever stop to do a "retrospective" on how well they've done? If they've made things better ... or made things a whole lot worse?
On the unbearable burden of Taxes:
Funny, we've had Taxes for as long as any of us can remember. There's nothing new there. Taxes are the price we pay to have a Society -- to have the infrastructures that makes the Free Market possible, in the first place. If these infrastructure systems could have been profitably privatized -- it would have been done already. Government does the things, that private industry has little interest in doing. The Free Market should be 'thanking Government' instead.
On the Environment:
All I know is that, Each of us is only here for a short while ... and if we give up on "leaving the place better, than we found it" -- then the Human species has already lost the battle.
On Diplomacy (and Evolution):
If the Humans are ever to adapt and evolve as Species, then we have to find some other way to solve our international disagreements -- beside the brutality of war. Instead of always looking for the worse case scenarios (and war-gaming everything out) -- we need to start looking for those Best-case scenarios, otherwise nothing will ever change.
On the expansive scope of Government:
Here is the metric we all need to be using to gauge that. And it comes right out of the Constitution too. We need to ask is what the Government is doing is it "promoting the General welfare"? That is our 'mission statement' that tells us how well Government is doing or not -- whether or not that activity or expenditure "promotes the General welfare" of the people?
On lying Politicians:
Government is only as good as -- the people in Government. Governments are made up of imperfect and flawed people. No Government is Perfect. When people in government screw up, they need to be held accountable. We need to get Lobbyists and Corporations out of the Business of Influence Peddling -- and then maybe the people in government might have 'less reasons' to screw up.
