Very cheap apparently.
There have been a couple of attempts to set up a crowdfunding site in support of policeman Mike Slager, after his shooting of Walker Scott and subsequent indictment for murder. One was taken down by GoFundMe for unspecified violations of Terms of Service. However, there is a one second live at IndieGogo.
In the short description there of the funds purpose, we have this gem:
Although he may have made mis-steps in judgement he was protecting the community. Michael is a former Coast Guardsman with two stepchildren and a wife who is expecting a chil
And from his Twitter defense account:

http://facebook.com/... … … Help support Offc Mike Slager murder is too harsh a charge for 1 mis-step. His public service should be considered
So taking the life of a black man is a "mis-step in judgement". This continues a thread in societal discourse that explicitly or implicitly dismisses the value of the life of black people. Now everyone is entitled to a fair and vigorous defense, but not at the cost of minimizing the crime they are accused of.
As a father with a black children in their 30s, and grandchildren in age ranges 12 to 4, I cringe every time I read of shooting locally. And the conspicuous cheapening of my children's and grandchildren's lives makes it clear they are in real danger.
