Two things strike me as deliciously ironic regarding J. Dennis Hastert's current legal woes.

First, provisions of the very law he helped to usher in as America's response to fighting terrorism, The Patriot Act, were instrumental in raising government suspicions concerning his huge bank withdrawals.
Second, of all the people the Republicans finally decided on to replace serial adulterers Newt Gingrich and Bob Livingston as Speaker of the House, they chose a man who, prior to his tenure as a congressman, 'allegedly' engaged in inappropriate sexual relations wioth a high school student he either taught or coached on his wrestling team. In hindsight, Mark Foley would have been a better choice.
I can't help but feel a bit giddy witnessing not just the total hypocrisy being exposed, but at the sheer lack of foresight on the part of the people who write the laws to think that they'll never run afoul of them.
Delicious.
