Well it seems that North Carolina and the Tar Heel Teabilly Taliban want to join the ranks of the "government in women's private parts club" by joining of the likes of the states of Missouri, South Dakota and Utah in requiring a 72-hour waiting period for a women to exercise their choice for abortion.
Let's see... From the time a woman realizes she might be pregnant, to the time she can obtain an appointment with her physician, then go to that appointment, in addition to the time it takes for test results to come in and then, and then ponder the ramifications of her predicament: Isn't that more than 72 hours? I think so. Now let's add to that 3 more days of angst. Wow...
Yeah, North Carolina (and the other three states) respect women, alright.
"Smaller government" doesn't apply, here!
North Carolina is poised to become the fourth state to require women to wait 72 hours between consulting a doctor and having an abortion after the state legislature gave final approval to the measure on Monday.
Unfortunately, it was an easy vote as both the Republican led state Legislature and Senate passed this measure by a wide-enough margin to override a possible veto by Republican Governor Pat McCrory.
All of us here in North Carolina remember, now Governor McCrory's obvious campaign lies, that he would not sign any measures that restricted access to abortion, (although he has since signed into law tighter regulations for abortion providers).
Just another of the many lies, and sneaky games just to get into office, and stay there....
Talk about government intrusion into the lives of its' citizens....
But there's more that I can't address here (gotta go), but follow the link to this interesting tidbit of an article about just how North Carolina and Raleigh really feel about a "womans' place:
5 Ways North Carolina Fails Women on Health
BY JANET COLM
With legislators focused on reducing access to reproductive health, it is far too easy for them to overlook a slew of other important — and disturbing — health trends for women in North Carolina.
North Carolina earned a D+ in a recent report on the status of women’s health and well-being from the Institute for Women’s Policy Research. The researchers looked at nine indicators ranging from mental health to exercise habits to deaths from heart disease and cancer.

The news for American women is not good, and the news for North Carolina, is worse.

Be careful out there.
