Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took to Fox News today to again show off his business and foreign policy credentials, by which we mean a sour-faced rant in which he threatened to sue Spanish-language network Univision for
pulling out of their deal to simulcast the Trump-owned Miss USA pageant after Trump simply
opined that Mexican immigrants to America were mostly
drug dealers and rapists.
Fox News' Gretchen Carlson had asked Trump whether in light of all this controversy and today's resulting Univision decision he wanted to amend his presidential announcement remarks about Mexico sending us their "rapists." Nope. That's a hill America's classiest classhole is willing to die on.
Greta, that's what's happening! You think they're sending their best people over here? And I'm not just talking Mexico, I'm talking about all over the world, they're coming through our southern border. [...] You think they're sending their best and their finest over here? It's not just Mexico, everybody's pouring through the border. And I'm angry at Mexico because Mexico allows it to happen. But of course they're criminals, in many cases. [...] Of course I'm standing by that statement, everybody knows it's true.
Which means now he's got to sue Univision for wanting to pry themselves away from any association with him. If everyone who worked with Donald Trump was allowed to
stop working with Donald Trump just because he was a gigantic asshole, what kind of America would we be living in?
Of course I have a signed contract. Five years, they have to pay me almost $15 million dollars, I have a signed contract, they can't do this. They called me up and apologized, they didn't even know what to say. They called up to apologize. They want me to stop telling the facts. Whether it's the border facts or the trade facts, which are just as bad. [...]. They're sending plenty of bad—and I'm just saying, they're pouring through the border.
He's just so damn classy.
