Michael D. Parrish
During the 2014 Election Cycle, I expressed
a bit of skepticism about Mike Parrish's decision to run from Jim Gerlach's seat in Pennsylvania's District 6 since he had not, at least at that point, shown District 6 Dems that he was more than a D.I.N.O. (Democrat in Name Only). However, I think it's only fair to write a follow up post about some of the actions he has taken in preparation for
his recently announced 2016 run.
1. Per FEC records, after Parrish dropped out of the race and publicly supported Manan Trivedi, he also contributed $500.00 to Trivedi's campaign.
2. Also per FEC records, Parrish has already contributed $250.00 to current State Rep. Steve Santarsiero's campaign for the neighboring District 8 seat.
Regardless of the reason why Mike Parrish dropped out of the 2014 race, he has clearly been making promising steps toward gaining PA Democrats' trust by endorsing Trivedi (he didn't have to, and he certainly didn't have to contribute money to Trivedi's campaign) and now by supporting State Rep Santarsiero's campaign for District 8. With his military and business background and his seemingly moderate views on social issues, Parrish has the potential to be a strong contender against Costello in 2016. As the 2016 Election Cycle draws closer, in the words of Rachel Maddow, "Watch this space..."
