So last night I wrote about how FOX news had PJ Crowley on spewing nonsense that the Syrian Regime was quietly working with ISIS.
http://www.dailykos.com/...
It was a simplistic article showing just how easy it is to go on Cable News and spew nonsense that could be easily refuted.
I was angry enough that FOX did it, but today it is worse. NPR and our person who is supposed to be leading the fight against ISIS joined in. The results are not pretty.
First we have retired General Allen, who Obama hired to organize our fight against ISIS:
AMOS: That weakening has led to a rebel charge that the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, is coordinating with ISIS to blunt the gains of rebels supported by the West and Arab states. Allen has heard those charges, and he explains, using the Arabic name for ISIS, Daesh.
ALLEN: I think for a very long time, we have suspected that Assad has had a relationship with Daesh that has facilitated each other's ends. Whether they would look at each other and consider that they're allies, I'm not sure we're to that point. But clearly there have been some actions or inactions by the regime that has facilitated Daesh frankly.
So while this was airing,
27 Syrian soldierslost their lives fighting Daesh. General Allen lost no one fighting Daesh. He has no ground troops at risk of getting beheaded by Daesh.
So here is the general situation in Syria. Daesh is fighting the regime in Deir Azzour. Daesh just took Palmyra from the regime, then proceeded to slaughter a bunch of civilians. Daesh is also moving north of Aleppo to take on Nusrah Front. Oops, I mean moderate rebels. Because the regime is not treating Nusrah Front...I mean moderate rebels with respect, General Allen is spewing out nonsense about how Syria is supporting Daesh.
Meanwhile. No one in the U.S., England, or France has gone after anyone financing Daesh or Nusrah Front. This is not a small-scale operation. We are talking a military operation that run into multi-millions of dollars.
For those that know Arabic, hereis an article talking of Nusrah Front taking on ISIS north of Aleppo. There a lots of them. No one will tell you that. They will whine about how the moderate rebels need our support against the evil ISIS. Not that the Nusrah Front is fighting ISIS and we need to side with Al Qaeda to fight ISIS. But that sad state of affairs is Al Qaeda whined that Syria was bombing them, and our idiotic system which only knows 2 or 3 people in Syria spewed out the nonsense that Syria was helping Daesh.
So, do you think ISIS or Al Qaeda is going away anytime soon with the idiots we have confronting it?
Here is the solid evidence the NYT has on this:
Neither American officials nor Syrian insurgents have provided proof of such direct coordination, though it has long been alleged by the insurgents. The State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf told reporters Tuesday that United States officials were looking into the claims but had no independent confirmation.
NYT
Only in America. it sounds good, let's print it. Does it make sense? Who cares? It supports our political agenda.
