So although Fox News had up until recently pretty much covered up the allegations that Josh Duggar the oldest son of the Conservative Christian Family that stars on the TLC show 19 Kids and Counting had molested 4 girls, including 3 of is sisters - one of whom was only 5 years-old - beginning when he himself was 14 years old... Megyn Kelly eventually decided to finally do a softball interview with the Duggar Parents.
And in which the Duggar's told multiple lies and half-truths, particular about the release of police records.
According to In Touch, multiple statements made by Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar during the hour-long interview could have been easily disproved on air if Fox researchers had done their homework and read the documents and statements that were publicly available before Kelly conducted her interview.
According to Jim Bob Duggar, “This information was released illegally,” with the couple accusing Springdale police chief Kathy O’Kelley of possibly taking “a bribe” and having “an agenda.”
As In Touch notes, the file was obtained legally, with the Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette already writing that claims otherwise are “disputed by the law enforcement agencies involved, the Arkansas Press Association and attorneys with expertise in public-document cases involving the state’s Freedom of Information Act.”
Additionally the fact of the matter here isn't just that Josh may have committed a criminal act, it's that he apparently did so
repeatedly, with the knowledge of his parents and that rather than report this to authorities
they covered it up for years.
While Duggar maintained that, as parents, he and his wife were not legally “mandated” to report their son’s transgressions, Michael Johnson, a former United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, disagreed, saying, “It is possible that investigators looking into this case could have cited the parents Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar with Arkansas Code 5-27-221 ‘Permitting Abuse of a Minor.’ Having once learned of the behavior, they recklessly allowed it to continue.”
This piece of fluffery has apparently caused Conservatives, led by none other than Bristol and Mama Grizzbear Sarah Palin to lash out in anger and rage - at "
Liberals" who apparently get a special pass by the media and also "Spit on our Troops Graves" and something, something, Lena Dunham, something....
How any of that rationalizes or justifies the Duggar's letting their own daughters remain at risk without taking any appropriate action to defend them - is far beyond me.
Yet I will attempt to address that subject over the flip.
First the Palinites.
In a Facebook post the day after the Duggars spoke to Fox’s Megyn Kelly, Palin lashed out at actress Lena Dunham, who wrote in her book That Kind of Girl that she was 7 years old when she had touched her sister’s genitals.
“Radical liberals in media who have total control over public narratives are disgusting hypocrites, so says my daughter,” Palin wrote, linking to a pro-Duggar column penned by her daughter, Bristol. “I’m glad someone’s got the guts to call out these perverts… The intolerant left’s destructive personal intrusions and narrow-mindedness applied to their chosen targets are bad enough, but their double standards are beyond the pale.”
Let me just say, er,
what? That's like
too Coo-Coo even for Coo-Coo Puffs.
And yet, it got worse - with this.
Such obvious double standards applied to equally relevant stories underestimate the wisdom of the public, discredit the press, and spit on the graves of every American who fought and died for the press’s freedom,” she added.
Saddam Hussein wanted to take our press's freedom away? Was that before or after he was gonna bake that Yellowcake from Niger into a bomb and give it to al Qaeda so they could blow up the Brooklyn Bridge in a shower of orgasmic Shria YiiII-iii--iiii-iiiii!!!?
Anyhoo...
Is she saying that their should be "balance" between what Dunham wrote in her book and how the Duggar's are now being asked softball questions and answering with self-serving distortions without follow-up? If we have any further questions about what Dunham described happened when she was 7, with her then 1-year-old sister we don't need Megyn Kelly with her oh-so-piercing-and-perceptive-questions, Dunham's already addressed it herself after she received a harsh "Liberal" media backlash over it.
This is the passage in question:
One day, as I sat in our driveway in Long Island playing with blocks and buckets, my curiosity got the best of me. Grace was sitting up, babbling and smiling, and I leaned down between her legs and carefully spread open her vagina. She didn’t resist and when I saw what was inside I shrieked.
My mother came running. “Mama, Mama! Grace has something in there!”
My mother didn’t bother asking why I had opened Grace’s vagina. This was within the spectrum of things I did. She just got on her knees and looked for herself. It quickly became apparent that Grace had stuffed six or seven pebbles in there. My mother removed them patiently while Grace cackled, thrilled that her prank had been a success.
Which I admit, is strange, but is it an example of a pattern of deliberate predatory molestation that her mother proceeded to cover up? Hmm... I don't think so.
This weekend, Dunham responded to accusations from National Review and Truth Revolt that what she had actually done in her memoir was reveal that she had sexually abused her younger sister. On Twitter, she went on a self-described rage spiral: “The right wing news story that I molested my little sister isn’t just LOL- it’s really f—ing upsetting and disgusting,” she tweeted. “And by the way, if you were a little kid and never looked at another little kid’s vagina, well, congrats to you. Usually this is stuff I can ignore but don’t demean sufferers, don’t twist my words, back the f— up bros. I told a story about being a weird 7 year old. I bet you have some too, old men, that I’d rather not hear. And yes, this is a rage spiral.”
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, normal sexual behavior for children ages 2 to 6 include touching or masturbating genitals in public or private, trying to look at or touch peer or new sibling genitals, showing genitals to peers and trying to see peer or adult nudity.
See the scandal here isn't that Josh did this once. It's that he did it
over, and over and over again with his parents knowledge and
refusal to immediately report it to the proper authorities. This is an issue of repeated and reckless
Child Endangerment by the Duggar's not a game of "who touched what when". And that is in addition to the true hypocrisy that Josh himself now as an adult as head of media response for the Family Research Council has repeatedly
railed in favor of discrimination against gays because of their being "dangerous to children."
Duggar’s group, the Family Research Council, regularly paints the LGBT community as a precarious threat to children, and he and his family have participated in that rhetoric.
Last December, Duggar led a successful campaign to defeat a LGBT nondiscrimination measure in Fayetteville, Arkansas, which he said jeopardized the safety of children during an interview on the FRC radio program “Washington Watch”:
Duggar also said that opposing the nondiscrimination ordinance as a sign of “love” to the gay community, which he accused of trying to “silence” its critics.
The family has even
banned signs of same-sex affection from their facebook page.
Earlier this month the ultra-conservative Duggar family, led by Jim Bob and Michelle, was criticized for allegedly banning gay posters and deleting same-sex kiss photos from their official Facebook page.
So with this context is it really that surprising that the right-wing is more upset at Lena Dunham's underage one-time same-sex touching, than they are at Josh Duggar's
repeated opposite-sex touching of girl after girl after girl, and the coverup that his parents participated in then as well as the victim-shifting they are now doing to themselves with the false claim that the police report was "illegally" released?
Yeah, not really. And lots of people in FoxLand are falling for it too. Like the Palins, they have to find someone else -like Bill Clinton and Black people - to blame.
“It sounds like the parents are sorry for their mistakes and I’m glad Josh’s sister forgave him,” posted one commenter, liv4myfamily. “I hope this will all over with soon and 19 kids and counting will start airing new episodes on TLC. My kids were heartbroken when they took it off the air and I told them that we need to forgive Josh for what he did because God has.”
...
“This happened when they were all underage and Josh gets no pity but liberals have now made the girls victims again…all for ratings and political ammo…now that’s sick,” said bsween.
...
“One out of ‘nineteen kids’ being defective isn’t that bad when you compare that to most families,” said obamabotsbegone. “Compare that with the inner city families in Baltimore, Chicago etc… No excuse for his actions but…”
...
“SexualMisconduct is in every race, religion, and political arenas,” said jeanne_101. “To pretend it’s only a conservative Christian problem is ridi culous (sic).”
...
“This is a tragedy for this family!” said deogratias. “It wasn’t so big a deal when we had a sitting president have sexual contact with a young girl in the oval office and then lied about it! He gets to give speeches for $500,000.00 dollars and the media finds him to be an upstanding person! Liberals suck!”
Right, it wasn't a big deal, Ken Starr only spent $70 Million and released the confidential Grand Jury findings and his
soft-core porn report to the public in order to have a sitting President
Impeached for only the second time in American History. No, that was "no big deal" at all.
So everyone can relax and get back to watching 19 Kids and Counting and completely ignore the creepy link it has to the Quiverfull movement where women are treated primarily as sexual chattel for their Husbands now that we've established that the real people to blame here are obviously 1) The Media 2) Liberals 3) Liberal Media 4) Lena Dunham 5) Bill Clinton 6) Baltimore Riots 7) The Gheys and not any so-called Christians who make up excuses for ignoring child molestation while persecuting and discriminating against gays in order to "protect" children and certainly not a single or multiple persons who just happen to have, or used to have, the last name "Duggar".
Because nobody wants $Millions in money going toward mainstreaming the sexually perverse and deviant ideas of a strange little cult beamed right into their living rooms by a "biased hypocritical media", now do they? Of course not.
Everyone clear on that?
