Apparently Mr. Polis hasn't gotten enough of an earful from his regular working constituents...
After checking in with Congressman Polis's DC office I was dismayed to learn that not only does he plan to vote for fast track authority for the TPP, he wants his constituents to believe that he is doing so because he claims that this trade bill will be beneficial to workers and small businesses in his district and across the country. At least that was the boilerplate pro-TPP blather that one of his aides spouted after I made my concerns clear about the abdication of Congressional oversight and prerogative that fast track approval would bring about, not to mention the fact that the corporate drafted TPP is shrouded in secrecy that squelches honest debate and continues a tradition of horrible international trade deals that expand corporate power while diminishing the power of sovereign nations and their working-class citizens.
C'mon Congressman Polis, do the right thing and champion open honest debate and don't hide behind secrecy if the TPP is so wonderful. Do you have that courage?
