We should push back against actions like the HuffPo's, who are relegating him to the entertainment section. There was also talk on one of the Sunday chat shows about how journalists should not cover him.
IMHO, as long as he is in the top tier poll-wise, we should insist that he get coverage commensurate with that. GOP party leaders would love nothing more than for the media to write him off, but this is an important moment for us to cry foul at this and make sure that party is tarred with his batshit craziness.
Think about it this way: if a total nutter were in or near the lead of the polls for the Democratic nomination, would FOX News let us off the hook by simply dismissing that person as a sideshow or flash in the pan, and focussing on the "serious" Democratic candidates? Not on your life. Politics ain't beanbag, and this is our chance to push their party's brand so far down in the mud (or, rather, to let their crazies do it for us) we might even be able to contend for more than just the White House. It's a golden opportunity to blow up the GOP--let's not let the media defuse it.
