What is wrong with these people? I was just watching Meet the Press and in the last segment Chucky Cheesy and his panel were discussing the Planned Parenthood video fiasco.
What bothered me most is that not one of them brought up the fact that the video was highly edited and when the real video was released it showed a different slant on the situation. Typically the Republican (Sara Fagen - former White House Political director for George W. Bush) talked about it being murder (infanticide) and how they were selling organs. She stuck to the same talking points the Congress keeps saying. But, what surprised me is that the other panelists (Jose Diaz-Ballart - MSNBC anchor, Ron Fournier - National Journal, Amy Walter - Cook Political Report) more or less went along with that theme.
Why, when the highly edited video was debunked did Jose Diaz-Ballart keep talking about how gross it was to watch the doctor eating a salad while talking about tissue donation? Why did they not say that the Planned Parenthood doctor said they were only being paid for costs associated with tissue donation. The doctor says they get maybe 5 or 10 bucks for the tissue for extraction and delivery? All they seemed to be able to talk about was how talking about the actual abortion process was something people did not want to know about.
The panel was really ineffective on all the segments but this segment was the worst. I do not understand how good old Chucky ever got this show. He is so slanted and his talking points are lousy. He was taken down by Bernie and John Kasich. They did not let him get away with his lies and his attempt to dramatize things from their speeches and past actions. When he tried comparing Bernie to Trump, Bernie was having none of it. Then he brings on Pat Buchanan a right wingnut has been who lost two elections and John Nichols from The Nation. Pat as usual flapped his gums in the typical Tea Party way extolling how wonderful Trump is.
This show could be such an informative vehicle, especially at this time with the right anchor and intelligent panelists, instead it is embarrassing.
