I gotta say the Seattle spectacle has been an eye opening experience for the African American community, I'm seeing and participating in a lot of chatter… in all, a lot of butthurt. Because supposedly Progressives/Democrats were on the team
Listening to the audio of that event and hearing some of the vile, racist disgusting chatter at that event, because these young ladies just want to live, was very disheartening. If one didn't know any better you would have thought, that the crowd was going to start building gallows and tying nooses with crosses burning in the background...it was disgusting.
A couple of images have stuck with me so far, one is a video clip of an OathKeeper...you know, the guys who are supposed to be infiltrating the area, and when you look on MSNBC and a few diaries here, their only purpose is to create chaos and kill black people…
In this clip he's debating with what I assume to be a Progressive. This one minute clip spoke volumes to me, it was so profound. How is it, that this hater of Black People, this domestic terrorist depending on who you listen to, have so much more clarity on this issue, than supposedly a Progressive…? This guy is supposedly a right wing terrorist, he hates black people, right..? right? but he got it….Now later I saw another clip where he said we should elect Trump for President so brightest tool in the shed he's not ...but still...he got it, more-so than a lot of bleeding blue Progressives.
Now some are going to puff their chests, pout and stomp their feet, and say maybe African Americans need to find new allies…..you know what, maybe...it's quite possible that this relationship has run it's course and it's time to look elsewhere...one of purposes of aligning with Progressives/Democratics was to put a stop to the killing….based on the backlash to BLM it appears that some Progressives are satisfied with death by cop instead of lynching...as an African American I find that unacceptable...so if your response is...well there are other causes than yours, and let's work on them all...my response is fuck you, fuck your causes, fuck your candidates and fuck your elections...it's really that simple.
Because I can't really think of a cause that's more important than my or someone who looks like me life, to able to be as a free, tax paying, law abiding citizen able to roam the country freely without being killed by law enforcement...and before you make an ass out of yourself, and make a statement like that...think for yourself if you were a part of a group that was only 13% of the population, living in a country that had mass genocide, slavery, lynching and interment camps in it's history...and you decided to go to the store for you favorite latte, and didn't make it home killed by law enforcement...because your blinker didn't work.
Over the fold for police reform...
Now let's not kid ourselves police reform is not going to be an easy matter, it's heavy lifting….too many elephants in the room.
But any discussion around police reform must center around the Supreme Court decision Warren vs. D.C. ...in short the police have no obligation or duty to protect you...in my mind that means public safety and revenue collection are their primary job….
"[t]he duty to provide public services is owed to the public at large, and, absent a special relationship between the police and an individual, no specific legal duty exists". This means that the concern of police officers is for the public and not the individual, unless there is some special protection that is implemented by the department. In other words that enforce the law of the public at large and not the rights of the individual.
Summary
Justices Rule Police Do Not Have a Constitutional Duty to Protect Someone
This case is the big elephant in the room, at the core of any discussion new rules need to be laid out in regards to how Police can engage the public...any discussion that doesn't have this as it's foundation in regards to keeping the police from murdering their citizens is not an honest conversation, which is why I haven't figured out if BLM is a real movement or is it astroturf...is it merely a case of BLM coming out from the grassroots and not really having a full grasp of the in and outs and just want the murders to end or is it something designed to distract or destroy...not really sure...because the reality of it, any Federal national candidate is just blowing smoke up your ass if he's telling you he can do anything to stop the murders, someone asked should it be done city by city...it can, but it would be more effective and meaningful State by State….
Another elephant in the room is Union protection...long gone should be the days where a Cop can murder a citizen, get put on paid leave, have a go-fundme campaign set-up for his legal fee's and when it's all said and done be put back on the job and receive a full pension...that has to stop, but stopping it is extremely problematic because of the relationship and money donated between/by Progressive/Democrats and Unions. It needs to happen, but it won't…unless Progressives redefine their relationships with the Unions...are Black Lives more important than unions and their causes...I would say yes, obviously...but the person who can figure out how to navigate that and still maintain a strong Collective Bargaining Agreement environment deserve the Noble Peace Prize….nevermind the Presidency.
There also needs to be a urgent push for new castle doctrine laws, like in Indiana...or redefined whereas they specifically protect citizens in their vehicles, walking down the street or in their homes…
Now before some chucklehead goes back in my diary history and thinks he has found a smoking gun, and wants to start commenting that I want more guns and I'm a RKBA'er knock it off, it's not about guns...I'll be more than happy to post a diary titled fuck you and your gun control so we can discuss it….but I'm not speaking in regards to guns, I'm speaking solely in regards to citizens being able to be released from this comply or be murdered tactic that the police are employing...that's ridiculous...as summarized by a guy at Huffington Post.
“The amendment's main effect on drug raid cases will be that if someone is by mistake considered a suspect -- and if in the confusion and volatility of the moment he mistakenly shoots and kills a police officer -- he'll now be permitted to argue in court that a reasonable person in the same position could easily have made the same mistake.
In seven years of reporting on paramilitary-style drug raids, I've reviewed cases where police officers have shot and killed innocent people after mistaking a blue cup or a glinting wristwatch for a gun. In nearly all of these situations the officers were cleared because prosecutors determined that given all the circumstances, the officers had made a reasonable error in judgment. Now in Indiana, the citizens on the receiving end of these raids will be given the same consideration.
"In the end, that's all this amendment does," Rutherford said. "It really just puts police officers on the same level as everyone else."
Myths and Misconceptions About Indiana's New Self-Defense Law
Because at this point I don't care how it's done...but this overlord, us vs. them...militarized occupation that's going on, primarily in Democratic/Progressive strongholds...needs to end. Not three years from now, not when the new candidate who puffs the most smoke up our collective asses get's in...
But Now.
So yea, if you don't agree, and think there's some other cause that's more important than Black Lives...we've already covered how I feel about that.
