In case you missed it, Joe Biden met with Elizabeth Warren over the weekend and it has Washington abuzz,
reports CNN.
Warren and Biden discussed economic policy during a meeting that lasted about two hours, a person familiar with the discussion told CNN, adding that the presidential campaign or Biden's future was not a particular focus of the discussion.
The meeting, confirmed by two people familiar with the session, is the biggest indication yet that Biden is feeling out influential Democrats before announcing his intentions.
This is exactly what
Hillary Clinton did as she weighed her presidential run—although no one ever really questioned whether Clinton would throw her hat in the ring. As yet, Warren hasn't endorsed anyone, though the grassroots energy that inspired calls for her to run seems to have mostly been sucked up by Bernie Sanders' candidacy.
Whatever might be going through Biden's mind, he will not be joining the other five Democratic candidates as they address the Democratic National Committee in Minneapolis this week.
Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Martin O’Malley, Jim Webb, and Lincoln Chafee will be at the DNC’s Thursday-through-Saturday confab, but Biden — who is meeting with close aides and reaching out to potential allies, like Sen. Elizabeth Warren, as he weighs his options — chose not to take advantage of the open invitation that comes with his job.
