I've been praying for this.
I am hoping that the other airlines will follow suit.
Please follow me across the desert.
Following the tragic news of the killing of Cecil the lion, Delta Airlines has announced that it will no longer allow the shipment of hunting trophies around the globe.
The airline said in a statement:
“Effective immediately, Delta will officially ban shipment of all lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros and buffalo trophies worldwide as freight. Prior to this ban, Delta’s strict acceptance policy called for absolute compliance with all government regulations regarding protected species. Delta will also review acceptance policies of other hunting trophies with appropriate government agencies and other organizations supporting legal shipments.”
Cecil the Lion was a much loved animal at the Hwange National Park and an icon for conservation efforts in the region. He was killed by Walter Palmer, a Minnesota dentist in early July. Zimbabwe’s wildlife minister has said that extradition is being sought for Palmer. Credit Yahoo News.
I am supplying a link to a page for contacting Delta. There are 3 choices and I'll let you decide. Please, please give them a shout-out. If the other airlines follow suit, this could go a long way in shutting down trophy hunting.

I was rubbing EarnestT's belly this morning and he was flexing his paws. I burst into tears thinking about Cecil.
Let's do what we can for the wild animals who are shot because some dick/ess wants to hang it on his/her wall. It has to stop!
Technical note. I have no idea why I can't get the text below Delta's announcement out of 'Italic & Blockquote'. Take that, DK5.
I won't be here when this publishes. Just found out I have to leave for 3-4 hours. As this is more a news item, my pithy comments probably won't even be missed. Discuss this quietly, amongst yourselves.
