When I go to a protest rally or march, I expect to follow along with what the leaders have planned. Perhaps some people are better with creating good chants than others, but I am there to participate and show my support for the cause.
People in Seattle went to see some local speakers and Bernie Sanders. They did not expect to attend a protest. From what video I was able to see, a few people hijacked Sanders speech. Then the young lady demanded that the crowd protest, and proceeded to insist that they do exactly what she wanted for as long as she wanted. She then accused the crowd of something silly because some refused to comply. They refused to comply.
I do not think that most children are ignorant; quite the opposite. I do not think that children, much less adults, should be treated this way. Some think that teaching children to unthinkingly comply is part of the problem with police brutality.
My way or the highway is not a good way to get people to support your cause, and Black Lives Matter is a very worthy cause.
Just my two cents - this has been bugging me. I hoping that by posting this very rare diary, I can get some work done this afternoon. And if you hate it, at least it is short.
