So we are hearing from my daughter that there is a shooting three blocks from where my daughter lives on the MIT campus. Shooting on Portland and Main where there was a parade.
Update: though the shooting was not on campus, it was an area where students hang out a lot, including my daughter.

People are being warned to stay away from Portland and Main area. One victim, injuries not life threatening. Suspect still at large.
UPDATE from MIT:
By 10 PM MIT considers the emergency over. As far as I can tell the shooter wasn't caught, but show is over.

A woman in her mid-20s was shot in the leg on Portland Street, off Main Street, according to Cambridge police spokesman Jeremy Warnick. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is being treated at a local hospital, he said
Sounds like a personal conflict? Not sure, but it's weird hearing about such events near your kid.
