This summer saw the violent deaths of 17 transgenders.
Many of whom were also poor and of color. Yet we have Davis crying.
The white, overpaid clerk, (by a mere 80k a year in depressed Kentucky) Christian, perpetual divorcee, Kim Davis* proclaimed how hurt she is. How she doesn't want to be a whipping post.
Let's go through how much of a whipping post in modern America Davis really is. How mean people are treating this woman who, according to her attorney Staver
"...loves people, "
This non-whipping post Davis, gets 80k a year in a state where the median wage is $41,000. This amount brings Kentucky into 47th place in the U.S..
Davis has been off of her job due to an untimely arrest, does not do the job she swore an oath to do, coerces her subordinates-to the point where they too were breaking the law.
But somehow no one in any political standing in Kentucky thinks maybe she should stop getting paid. No one seems to think maybe she should be impeached.

*I had to resist temptation to describe Davis as an ahole , hypocritical, homophobic, narcissist, hateful, bigoted, spoiled, criminal, tyrannical, religious fanatic.
I'm trying to act like a professional here! So I didnt- sort of.
As for that Christian privilege Davis has-I am an atheist.
I would be afraid to wear a tshirt that let the public be fully aware of my non religious beliefs. I have some dealings with the public in a small NC town. I am sure my ability to do, sell, or communicate anything would go through the toilet.
I have no politicians (Democrat or Rebpublican) clamoring for my religious beliefs be taken into consideration, accommodated, respected. Indeed quite the opposite.
I endure comments that atheists have no morals. That there is no freedom from religion in this country.
If I refused to do my job and not serve a christian- I guarantee you I would be impeached.
There would be no job. There are public officials in the news, asking religious questions to potential hires, as we speak. I might not even have gotten a job in the first place.
And who is going to vote for an atheist? American voters have less respect than the feared Muslim.
Which also brings up the points about how a Jew, Muslim, Hindi, Buddhist, Amish, etc. might have fared in that small Kentucky town. Probably would have been told to do your job or be impeached.
Davis has her Christian religion and its clout to back up her lack of people skills and her lack of work. Her view that Christianity is a hateful, judgmental, religion gets her a big pass to be a hateful, judgmental worker. She gets a pass as a Christian to break the law.
Now to the real whipping posts in this story. The LGBT community.
Last I heard there recently has been 17 transgender deaths in the US.
People of color who are also trans have literally taken a beating.
The gay community, the trans, the lesbian, the bi- all have long been physically assaulted, verbally attacked, employment opportunity denied. These are the people America- and particularly the right wing zealots in the Christian community- has been using as whipping posts.
They don't have politician flying in to demand they have equal rights to a marriage. A marriage for effin sake- a bond that signifies love. Nope- gays can't have love.
Love is only for Christians.
No "Eye of the Tiger" for them . They have to hope for a quiet day and a clerk who wont preach to them of godly retribution ( as Davis did). And maybe if they take a little verbal and snide looks, they will be able to exercise their civil rights and be married.
Now where is Kentucky in all of this? A clerk that gets paid more than most of Kentuckians is allowed not to do her job. Kentucky is allowing Christian people standing on state property to shout hate to gay couples only seeking to have their civil rights confirmed.
My take is Kentucky really is Davis- hateful, bigoted, and not doing their job.
Kentucky isn't lifting a finger for any one but the privileged Christian. That is not the job of any state in America
