Elizabeth May: excluded and winning

Hi folks! I wanted to write a short diary about something happening tonight in the Canadian Election. The Globe & Mail is putting on a debate and they chose to exclude the Green Party Leader, Elizabeth May. There really is no good reason for this. She is a Member of Parliament and Leader of a national party. There is only one reason she was excluded: because she is a threat.

In the MacLean's debate in August, she was on stage and she was incredible! They really don't want her there tonight, especially Stephen Harper and the Conservatives.

Rather than whine about it, Elizabeth is doing something positive. With the help of Twitter, she will be in the debate, just not on the stage. She will be answering the questions posed, offering rebuttals to the others and her responses will be delivered real time via Twitter while the debate is going on.

I'll be watching Twitter tonight, not television. As a Canadian, I'm offended that they would exclude the Leader of a Party for no reason. As a woman, I'm outraged.

So, if any of you can spare some time tonight for a good cause, hop on over to Twitter and help an awesome woman show the establishment that she doesn't need to be on stage with them to be heard.
