A new NBC News/Survey Monkey poll finds Donald Trump continues to lead the crowded GOP presidential field with 29%, followed by Ben Carson at 14%, Carly Fiorina at 11%, Jeb Bush at 8%, Ted Cruz at 7% and Marco Rubio at 7%. No other candidates gets more than 3% support. Link
Nearly a third of Republican voters now say that they expect Trump will be the eventual nominee.

The one thing the polls are clearly showing is that I, a progressive thinker, have no clue what so ever as to how the mind of the Republican base thinks and I should always remember that.
Perhaps they are thinking: "The polls are saying the election is over a year away...it is not time to get serious and we want more Reality TV primaries".
If this continues into the actual primary season an interesting dynamic will take place.
The GOP set up their rules so that the establishment RINO who could only get about 30-40% of the votes would win the nomination. They did this by making it possible to have "winner takes all" primaries for primaries on or after March 15th. Many state parties (including my own) have been doing this.
However, this could work very well for The Donald as that is about the percentage he is pulling in right now.
At worst he would become a significant power broker and he is great Deal Maker, just ask him.
